The “Sparkling” features
Posted on 29. Oct, 2009 by Phil in Features
Sparkle is all about getting people to interact with each other on-line in an adult and natural way.
And if Sparkle is to really engage people then we have to pack the site with features that entice you back, time and time again.

This is a just a small taster of what is to come -
Profiles -
all the usual profile information, either very quick & simple or more detailed & involved, but with some very clever ways of displaying what makes you tick. This includes – revolving Word Clouds for personality traits, and interests & hobbies; short audio & video greetings to meet and greet the Sparkle members, and easily editable league-tables of your key words so you decide what is important in your life.
Searching
Sparkle’s vastly expanded profile information means that you can find people that match your interests in really intuitive ways - like body types, location, hobbies, group membership, comments they have made, key-words…and so on and so on. Sparkle’s Advanced Search facilities makes finding friends or making dates easy and powerful.
Matching
Our Matching Hub shows you who is on-line that meets your search criteria- but then takes this to a new advanced level. Save your search settings with a name e.g. local & likes films; national, over 35, tall & likes curry; or muscular Chinese in London – you can then switch your Hub to show your matches with 1 mouse click. You can also use your Hub to communicate with your matches using email, instant messaging, chat rooms and flirts. You have full control over ALL the matching options and how the system works for you.
Conversation
But conversations are not limited to your matches – you can share your thoughts in hundreds of places all over Sparkle – whether its in chat rooms, blog posts, forum discussions, instant messaging or emails. And we also aim to be one of the first websites to use the radically different Google Wave communication tool – so watch this space
Games
To encourage Sparkle members to get involved there will be some great on-line games that you can either play in solo-mode or join in with a group game. Imagine playing Scrabble or Poker with some mates and chatting live whilst playing, or play with a “pro” and learn Chess or Bridge in a live-game with step-by-step guidance. With league tables, competitions and prizes, Games will be a key part of Sparkle and great fun.
Learning
Learn new skills like Indian cooking or Yoga , ask questions of the experts in areas like fitness or stress management, or just join in conversations with experts in areas like books, music and films. Whether you want quick and easy advice or detailed guidance & support – Sparkle will be the place to meet the people with the knowledge.

Sounds good Phil, I’m looking forward to seeing the whole thing working, I think it will be a great way to get people who aren’t so good at talking about themselves ‘out there’ to meet people!

Hi Allan. If you use Gravatar it gives an internet-wide image associated with your email address – clever stuff hey?
Go here http://en.gravatar.com/ and give yourself an image

I think tht Cheryl cole is well clearly a good looking woman but sadly not very talented however I think that she is a good role model for younger girls growing up in the way she conducts herself her husband on the other hand is a total moron what does he think he`s doing sleeping around with all those girls she should get rid of him A.S.A.P he`s a total looser

First impressions are that the site is REALLY interesting & has lots going on almost like an online pub where you would just spend your time chatting to people about all sorts & maybe have the odd game or two. I can definitely see this taking off!

Thanks, Nikki, glad you’re enjoying it and you’re absolutely right…it IS just like an online pub. I may use that description in the future!!
